Hi, I’m Lori.
Welcome to my practice. I’m glad you’re here.
Life isn’t always easy. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, parenting challenges, or simply feeling stuck, you don’t have to face it alone. Reaching out for help is a courageous step, and I’m here to offer a warm, supportive space where you can feel truly seen and understood.
My approach is collaborative and compassionate. I believe therapy should be an active, engaging process—one where you feel safe to explore your experiences, gain new insights, and build practical tools to help you obtain the life you envision. I’m not just here to listen; I’m also here to help you move forward, at your own pace.
I bring decades of experience working with children, teens, young adults, and parents across a wide range of issues. My background includes a BSW and MSW from NYU’s Silver School of Social Work, a postgraduate two-year certificate in the treatment of children and adolescents, and certification as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. I’ve worked in hospital settings (including founding a bereavement program for perinatal loss), pediatric emergency rooms, school-based clinics, and private practice. I have also taught a graduate-level course for 7 yrs. at NYU (Overview of Learning Disabilities and Deficits in Attention)…and have supervised therapists and interns in a variety of clinical settings.
Whether you’re navigating a major life change, supporting your child through a tough time, have general parenting questions, or seeking to understand yourself better, I’m here to help. Together, we’ll find ways to manage life’s challenges, build resilience, and move toward a more fulfilling future.
Reaching out for help isn’t a weakness; it is a powerful act of courage. I know how hard it can be to speak to a stranger about personal struggles. Sometimes it’s even harder to speak to friends and family. That’s why therapy offers something uniquely valuable: a focused, collaborative space grounded in warmth, trust, and deep respect. It’s a private place where you can feel safe, seen, and truly heard.
Everyone comes to therapy with their own goals. That is where we will start… your goals. While understanding your past is important, insight alone isn’t enough. Often, earlier experiences or trauma continue to shape how you respond to the present, sometimes without even realizing it. Together, we’ll explore how those past difficulties might be playing out now, influencing choices, relationships, or patterns of thinking and behavior that aren’t working for you. When you bring those unconscious dynamics into awareness and learn to spot when they are affecting your behavior and the way you think in real time, you can open the door to lasting change. Uncovering them is not enough; learning to spot how they influence you today will be the key to real positive change.
